The sun is shining, the white stuff is gone and young flowers are beginning to poke out of the thawing ground...springtime is here! It's currently one of the best times of year to get out for a walk or a hike (no mosquitoes yet!). Our Trailhead Hosts often remark that some of the best easy hikes are easily accessed within the city limits.
The Fort Creek portion of the Hub Trail is a great paved pathway that winds through a beautiful inner-city watershed. There are great vistas of the Fort Creek gorge from a cable bridge. Round trip takes just an hour.
Just a 7 minute drive from the Inn, Hiawatha Highlands has an incredible trail system that ranges from easy to more challenging. Enjoy waterfalls, ponds, and outdoor playgrounds and picnic areas. For an easier hike, the 4km Pinder Trail provides a beautiful view of the city around the half-way point. The 5km Crystal Creek Trail is our favourite for a more challenging workout or for the more adventurous.
Speak to our Trailhead Hosts at Reception for maps, driving directions and more.

I work as a Systems Technologist for a major broadcaster and spend between 150 and 200 nights a year sleeping in hotels. I’ve stayed in all the major chains: Delta, Fairmount, Hilton, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Select, Journey’s End, Super 8, Ramada, and Day's, as well as the independent hotels such as yours. Never has a hotel or motel made me feel so welcome, and never has a particular staff member tried so hard to ruin one of my grumpy days.- Email to Management
