Adventurer Reviews of Algoma Activities

Easy to pedal and so much to see

Take a day to cycle Sault Ste. Marie’s Hub Trail, with cultural and historic, shopping and popular ice cream stops on the way.

The Hub Trail is my favourite way to get around the city.  You can visit cultural and historical attractions, enjoy outdoor activities, or just enjoy a sunny day while exploring a new city on your bicycle. You can do the whole 25 km. and make a day of it, or do shortened versions, depending on what stops you want to make. There are lots of scenic nature sections along the trail where you often see wildlife and view wetlands and creeks, including a long stretch along the shore of the St. Mary’s River in downtown Sault.

Sault Ste. Marie’s Bushplane Museum is a family favourite

My son Brandon is 5, and he loves this attraction because of all the hands-on activities and interactive displays. We usually plan to be there for about 2 hours to get the full effect of the Centre. They have a simulator for the children, educational displays, a 30-ft. fire tower where you try and spot the symbols of fire throughout the Bushplane Museum, and a working radio to the rangers office! And I didn't even mention the fact that there are many aircraft you can physically go into and explore. They have a 3-D movie adventure where you feel like you are right there with the pilots flying the plane! We do this at least twice throughout the year and every time (I mean every time) we pass by the museum at the end of Bay Street, my son asks me if it’s time to go on another adventure! I sometimes find myself driving a different way home to avoid this). This is definitely an attraction you need to find the time to see when in Sault Ste. Marie!  Your kids will love it and you will too! The Trailhead Adventure Hosts at Algoma’s Water Tower Inn & Suites can give you all the maps, info and directions you need, and recommend add-on activities to make a half or whole-day trip for you and your friends or family. Watch this cool video.

2013 Rotaryfest Weekend

I went down with my son Brandon to the Rotaryfest parade and to look at the Tall Ships in the harbour.  We went on the rides and checked out the Rib Cook off!!  The ribs were awesome and a favorite for a lot of people this year, big line ups! The bands were great, and as always the free activities for the kids are cool.  We made a water bottle flower and painted it, we coloured a bird and posted it on the wall, and we also went to the water floor last, and cooled off very quickly as there was a cool breeze on Saturday! We always have a fun time at RotaryFest! This is a great family event held in Sault Ste. Marie the third weekend in July.

Testimonials

C~nergy is very innovative, and we use this meeting room all the time. We like the technology and the large screen and white board. But it has something else...a unique ambiance. Everyone loves the round table. No matter where you are in the room, you can see everyone. Some of us have likened it to the aboriginal circle. You always feel like you're in the circle.
