Gros Cap Bluffs

Gros Cap offers outstanding vistas from the shoreline of Lake Superior. For those willing to make the trek to the rock bluffs, using the Voyageur hiking trail, you'll be able to take in a 270 degree vista at a height of 60 to 90 metres (197 to 295 feet) above Lake Superior.

Road Biking

Cyclists can ride to the Gros Cap area directly using Highway 550 (Second Line) or by using a combination of Highway 17, Fourth Line, Allen Side Road and Third Line to Second Line then on to Gros Cap. On the return cyclists can extend the trip by cycling out to the Pointe des Chenes area before returning.

Motor Touring

A drive to the Gros Cap area is always a pleasant trip because of the scenery. During the fall colour period this is a particularly scenic drive that local residents enjoy taking.

Hiking

The Gros Cap Bluffs can be accessed using the Voyageur Trail. Here the trail should be accessed from Marshall Drive. This location has spectacular views of Whitefish Bay of Lake Superior and rugged coastal scenery.

Testimonials

Chose Algoma's Water Tower Inn & Suites so that we could have a get-together with Soo Friends at the Pub. Opted for the "Sweet Suite" for just a bit more $$, and it was perfect. The Snugglebed was just that! Service with a smile, everywhere - even the cleaning staff went out of their way to smile and say "Hello". Enjoyed the Pub and the Restaurant. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Soo.
